• Training:  AUSGAR has conducted a variety of formal and informal training on many programs with training support being a primary task on the RCOS/KH program. Since 2009, AUSGAR subject matter experts (SMEs) have provided pre-deployment and in-country training and instruction to both CONUS and OCONUS Army, Marine Corps and Special Force units using the RCOS/Keyhole equipment. We have developed and implemented a comprehensive two-day training curriculum to ensure capabilities and functions of RCOS/Keyhole thermal/night vision equipment are fully understood. Working closely with the Government customer, AUSGAR also has supported development of the web based training procedures for each piece of equipment.

SSC-PAC has expressed its strong endorsement of the support the AUSGAR team has provided for this initiative.  After action reports (AAR) from multiple military commands in CONUS as well as Army & Marine Corps units overseas  have consistently validated the need for RCOS/KH equipment and the instruction AUSGAR provides in the execution of C-IED operations.

  • Logistics:  Since RCOS/KH equipment is not currently supported by an established military logistics pipeline AUSGAR provides the resident expertise needed to ensure all equipment failures and replacements are quickly and properly handled and integrated into military units with minimal downtime, delay or operational impact. When military units with fielded RCOS/KH equipment encounter any hardware/software failures AUSGAR staff  provide needed on-site support or ensure that the equipment is returned to CONUS for repair or replacement.

Technical Interchange Meetings: AUSGAR has demonstrated the ability to coordinate effectively with military commands overseas to ensure a training schedule as well as equipment dissemination for RCOS and Keyhole kits and training is synchronized and orderly. AUSGAR also has worked closely with SSC-PAC as well as other military commands to ensure the RCOS/KH concept is “advertised” and C-IED capabilities are understood and cross fertilized. Our outreach on this program has been international. AUSGAR staff met with Army and Marine Corps military leadership at Bagram AB in Afghanistan to ensure demonstration and capability of RCOS/KH equipment was understood and would meet local mission requirements. As a result of our active outreach, AUSGAR continues to garner considerable positive feedback on this program.
