Since 2009, AUSGAR Technologies has provided both CONUS and forward- deployed Afghanistan Theatre of Operation technical, operational, and instructional support to Reconnaissance Surveillance and Target Acquisition associated with Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) detection operations. Specifically, AUSGAR is directly supporting the Route Clearance Optics Suite (RCOS) and Keyhole Program, started under SSC-PAC Code 56130 in 2009. Program enhances life-saving C-IED capabilities by providing specialized equipment, TTP development, training/training plans, and system sustainment to multiple military units in CONUS and OCONUS locations, including the warzones of Afghanistan.
The AUSGAR team has provided operational and theoretical expertise, gained from first hand in-the-field experience, and is being applied to installation/integration services, testing and evaluation support, interoperability support for operation, training and system familiarization briefings. Our involvement and support encompasses a number of mission objectives to include persistent surveillance, explosive (specifically IED) detection and defeat, and response capabilities. We continue to leverage these front-line operational experiences to develop and refine the equipment packaging, employment tactics and formulate training lessons for US Army, US Marine Corps, & Special Forces.
AUSGAR currently has fourteen (14) personnel to support the RCOS/Keyhole initiative with the bulk assigned as training specialists overseas within USCENTCOM AOR. The hard-won operational experience and technical expertise of our staff members is directly contributing to IED mitigation and increased force protection.
